Professor Tomoko Hasegawa (RARA Fellow) received the 2024 Kyoto Prefecture Akebono Award, which was announced by the Kyoto Prefecture government on September 27, 2024. She attended the award ceremony, which was held on November 2 at the 36th KYO no Akebono Festival 2024 at Kyoto Terrsa (in Minami-ku, Kyoto).
The Kyoto Prefecture Akebono Award is awarded by the governor of Kyoto Prefecture to women and groups with close ties to Kyoto who have made outstanding achievements in various fields, with the aim of creating a rich local community through gender equality and further empowering women. This year, four individuals were presented the award, including Prof. Hasegawa.
