On December 21, 2024, the 3rd Seminar for Senior International Officers, “Considering the Development of ‘Personnel’ for University Internationalization: Seminar Series for Senior International Officers” was held at the Tokyo Campus of Ritsumeikan University. Professor Miki Horie (RARA Associate Fellow) delivered a lecture entitled “Becoming a ‘Growing Organization’: Challenge, Dialogue, and Collaboration.” Using her actual experience as the principal of Ritsumeikan-affiliated schools as a case study of the school development process, Prof. Horie discussed the leadership required for a “growing organization” and the potential for organizational culture change.

This seminar has been organized by the empirical research team on Senior International Officers (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), “Empirical study on Senior International Officers and organizational collaboration in the management of university internationalization/International comparative study on career development of Senior International Officers in the management of university internationalization,” in both of which Prof. Horie is involved as a Co-Investigator).
