On March 20th, 2024, the results of international joint research conducted by Professor Hisaaki Mihara (RARA Fellow) and Professor Nagaraja Tejo Prakash and his colleagues at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India, was published in the Springer Journal of Cluster Science. The article is titled “Selenium Nanoparticles Synthesized and Stabilized by Fungal Extract Exhibit Enhanced Bioactivity.”
The research has clarified the physical properties and biological activities of selenium nanoparticles synthesized from microbial extracts. It was supported by the Joint Research Project under the Bilateral Program of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), adopted from 2021 to 2023, as well as by the R-GIRO Program “Basis for Biosphere Science in Response to Climate Change,” on which Prof. Mihara serves as the project leader.
