Achieving Urban Development through “Sound” Design for Everyone’s Safety and Security
By utilizing advanced acoustic infrastructure for urban development, we aim to create a society where everyone can live in safety and security. Specifically, through acoustic-psychological innovation that integrates psychology with precise acoustic technology, we envision a universal soundscape society where cities understand and recognize all sounds within them, conveying information to people through sound, ensuring no one is left behind. We will co-create a future society in which things, people, and towns are united by industry, academia, government, and citizens.
To create a future society where people and towns are united, it is essential to systematize the RKN of Ritsumeikan Gakuen. I chose this theme because I believed I would be able to acquire the leadership and research promotion power to organize cross-disciplinary research.
The goal is to establish Ritsumeikan’s acoustic branding based on a cutting-edge research foundation in acoustics. We aim to create a new field of sound design that integrates psychological knowledge with sound technology, and to lay the groundwork for a soundscape society through industry-academia collaboration with international organizations. Furthermore, we will prioritize outreach activities by generating research outcomes through collaboration and co-creation with diverse researchers. In addition, we aim to initiate an industry-academia-government collaboration project to develop an advanced research base for acoustics.
We believe that applying sound design to societal development can make a significant contribution to shaping the future.
Partnerships:
I would like to take on the challenge of a large-scale industry-academia collaborative project by forming partnerships with diverse researchers who can share my goals.
Research collaborations:
I want to value sharing/resonance of goals and visions. We believe that we can grow together by collaborating with domestic and international universities and research institutes that are sympathetic to our vision.
