In collaboration with the National Institute for Materials Science and RIKEN, Professor Hiromitsu Maeda (RARA fellow) and his research team have synthesized π-electron ion pairs with hydrophilic groups, formed ion-pairing assemblies with regularly arranged structures in the presence of water, and clarified that their assembly morphology can be controlled by changing the concentration and temperature. These research results were published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition, the journal of the German Chemical Society, on September 25, 2024 (local time).
